Anonymous: Can or Faust?
Overall on a technical level, Can for sure. They have more songs I find myself coming back to regularly after so many years. If I could make music with one of these bands though I might pick Faust.
lil bitch: what dat bussy do?
Overall on a technical level, dat bussy can do a lot. It has more uses that I find myself coming to realize regularly after so many years. If I could make music with a bussy or a chickussy though, I might pick a chickussy.
Anonymous: peace mane, when you dropping new music?
Soon I think lol. Idk though, thats one of the hardest questions for me to answer. Seems like every five years or so.. and that's not on purpose.. so I suppose this year would keep my track record consistent. Or maybe this is the year I increase my time between releases to 10 years. 😅
brotha: peace mane what those nuts doin and why aren't they in my mouth
these nuts are sticking to the sides of my thighs like a strand of pasta on a wall at mama june's house in 2011. ru sure u want them in your mouth?
brotha: given the timeline, what is the next thing we can expect from you project wise?
we might expect me to project deez nuts in yo mouth. what u know bout timelines? what u know bout quantum computing and universal constants? nah i'm jk, idk.. there are a few records i have on ice right now. maybe some video projects too? 😎
Anonymous: What's for din din tonight? 🍲
just had focaccia boi. it's a little pop up that shows up on wednesdays at my favorite pizza spot in santa ana, ca (loosie's pizza). pretty fantastic honestly.
Anonymous: Who is your favorite comedian?
always been a dave chappelle stan since i was a kid. fun fact i used to be a top 5 poster in the dave chappelle forums in middle school lol. i used to get put on to a lot of cool shit in that forum but in retrospect it was pretty wild so many older dudes were down to talk to me on aim (aol instant messenger) knowing i was like 12 lol. no one ever pulled any creepy shit though..
nathan fielder and brad troemel are notably people who have made me laugh hysterically or made me question my perception of what comedy truly is in the past decade.
i know he's a perv and got cancelled but louis ck will always be one of my favorites. even if his comedy is too crude for you, i'd recommend horace and pete.. goddamn, that show was a masterpiece.
Anonymous: what was the first tape u bought?
first tape i actually bought with my own money was method man - tical / also was the first tape taken away from me when my mom had discovered what parental advisory meant. i had to dub it on to a blank tape and listen to it that way for a while.
Anonymous: how do you get over writers block?
i just do other things. even if it's for really long periods of time. i've found it conducive to my overall growth artistically to not invest all of my mental capacity pushing through these moments of blockage just for the sake of it. i'd rather learn a new skill that can help me strengthen a part of my brain that i can later use to my advantage with writing/creating than to keep trying to squeeze every last drop out of a dry sponge. this may not be conducive advice to someone who is trying to make a "career" out of art, but i realized a long time ago that wasn't a path i truly wanted.. and that i was way more interested in just learning new things and challenging myself with new tasks regularly. i have a lot of respect for people who put all their eggs into one basket and try and achieve mastery level at what they do though, you gotta be built different for that shit. i prefer variety 🙃
Lil Pax: What is one tape you'll never get rid of?
idk how to pick just one. the first few that came to mind are:
woo - it's cosy inside
spectrum - soul kiss (glide divine)
songs of leonard cohen
ohbliv - hydrosub
mndsgn - oblique kitchen
liv.e - frank
this tape that just says "daoud beats" that mejiwahn gave me like 8 years ago
blackfist - world manumission defense
beach boys - pet sounds (original mono)

Houndarelli: Ok serious question - where and how did you develop your business sense?
through necessity i suppose. i grew up with everything i needed food and clothes wise, but i never had an allowance or any way of getting money to buy shit i wanted. i always felt a pit in my stomach when i would steal things from people when i was a kid, but it felt really easy and was the only way i could think of getting video games and cassette tapes and other shit i wanted.. so i gradually shifted my moral compass to figuring out ways to steal from corporations lol. i used to pull scams on borders and barnes and noble, removing the sensor tags in the middle of expensive graphic design books and walking out with them and trading them in for store credit at other locations. i'd build up a huge balance and buy hella dvd's and xbox's and shit like that. i'd sell these gift cards on ebay to make cash to go to concerts i wanted to go to. i used to sell weed to middle schoolers when i was in elementary school too, i kinda had poor guidance from my cousin who was a brotherly figure for me lol (we're good though, just kinda funny to look back at those years in retrospect). i thrifted and sold a lot of shit on ebay growing up too.
anywho, all of these things basically taught me about capitalism at a young age unfortunately/fortunately (depending on how you wanna look at it) lol. i've just been refining my methods little by little since then. i'm way more intentional about why i'm trying to make money/start businesses now. less scams now for sure too lol. possessions and luxury items do not fuel my desire to succeed in business at all. the visibility of progression is why i enjoy it so much.
bubu: whats ur fave type of onion?
that's a tough question. i prefer green for garnish, thinly sliced red for sandwiches, white for pickled (w/ oregano and habanero) and also white for pico de gallo, yellows for whole grilled onions on burgers/for french onion dips. i love onions actually. did you know this? who r u bubu?
shrubs: Why you so gawdamn beautiful?
genetics baybeee.
shrubs: Does the mere thought of death in any way make a difference in the way you live your life?
not as much as it probably should. i don't really fear dying because when it happens you more than likely won't realize it lol.. so like, why even be scared of it? you just won't wake up one day and that'll be the end of it. maybe.

however, the thought of the wellbeing of people i'm leaving behind that are of significant value in my life when i pass on scares/concerns me. to anyone reading this, please give yourself a life insurance policy and sign it over to the people you want to take care of! don't make your loved ones have to pay for your funeral when you can just pay like $15 bucks a month for that shit. hook your loved ones up.
Anonymous: Pancakes or waffles?
historically, waffles. but at this point i'm not sure. pancakes been hitting different for me lately. maybe a tie overall.
Anonymous: Angels or Dodgers?
not a baseball fan :/
Anonymous: what the fuck is art even?
aight so basically we're all made of the same matter/stardust, we're all anatomically very similar, and we all basically have these like antennas/receptors for frequencies (like tuning through a radio) embedded somewhere in our consciousness. with this innate feature we have as living beings in the cosmos (idk might be reserved just for humans but who knows, this is all speculative and theoretical anyways just bear w/ me for a bit) we have the ability to channel ideas that already exist. they are like there for the taking if you know how to fish in the infinite ocean of ideas. if you can fuck with this concept keep reading. if you think you are the originator of your artistic ideas and you created these things without the help of something bigger than yourself, just gtfo this page now.
anyways, so these ideas that we have are never ours, they are just fish swimming in a sea of infinite other ideas. a pool of collective consciousness. this is where all human knowledge lies. call it the akashik records, call it whatever the fuck u wanna call it. i'm just gonna call it "the ocean". the more you respect the sport of "fishing" (for ideas) in this ocean the more you hone your skills as a fisherman (artist). really good fisherman can catch a fish with a piece of string and a hook. others might want something more than that and use really intense rods and baits to catch massive fish. there's no wrong way to do it, you either fish or you don't. the method of your choosing is YOUR choosing.
once you catch a fish you may be someone who wants to hang it on your wall (potentially a career artist concerned with legacy, someone who is in it to remember their accolades and accomplishments. of course there are many ways to interpret this). you may just want to cook the fish to sustain yourself (artists who create just to fulfill a void they feel) or to cook a fish to sell (artists who sell their art) or you might just want to catch it and release it back into the ocean (improvisational art/scribbles and doodles/jams that don't get recorded/art for arts sake). there are so many different ways to prepare the fish that you catch in this ocean. again, there is no wrong way to go about it. no matter your intention, there will always be an ocean full of fish.. whether you fish or you don't.
so back to that carl sagan shit.. we're all made of star stuff, we are all universally connected yadda yadda, basically art in a way is the soul coming into contact with itself. when you see a piece of art or hear a song that absolutely just speaks to you and moves you at your core, you are essentially being gifted a fish prepared to your exact liking when you are feeling absolutely famished. you're seeing a big ass fish on a wall and reminiscing on a time that you caught a fish that big too, or maybe you're reveling in the wonder of how this person could have possibly caught a fish that big, or that interesting, or that beautiful... when we are moved by art, i truly believe it's because our soul came into contact with someone else's soul in that moment and bridged a universal connection. if we're all made of the same shit, then maybe we really are all one.. maybe art is one of those unifying highways to different realms of collective consciousness. it feels like this is probably the closest thing to what is actually happening on a metaphysical level when we consume art.
art is the soul encountering itself.
